Trunk Show


Friday, Saturday & Sunday June 4, 5 & 6, 2010

Artists registered for the Symposium will have the opportunity to sell their wearable art in the Textile Center's Shop during the Symposium. The Shop will be open to Symposium participants and the general public throughout the Trunk Show. Trunk show items will be for sale on Friday through Sunday June 4, 5 and 6 only. Participation fee is $25 for a limited number of items per artist. Please reserve your space on your registration form. Textile Center will handle all sales transactions and retain a 30% commission.

Space is very limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We will accept only 10-20 artists and each artist will be able to display 5-15 pieces.

What can you sell at the Trunk Show?
  • Because this Trunk Show is held in conjunction with the Artwear Symposium, Trunk Show items need to be wearable art items. We will not accept home decor items, handbags/purses, wall art or sculptural pieces. If in doubt, please contact Becka Rahn, Education Manager before you register.
  • Textile Center reserves the right to refuse any piece(s) that are submitted.
  • Textile Center will make all decisions regarding display and placement of Trunk Show items. Most items will be displayed on garment racks in the Shop/Gallery area.
How to participate:
  • Register for the Trunk Show on your registration form.
  • After we have received and processed your application, you will be notified that your Trunk Show registration has been accepted. If we do not have space and are not able to accept your registration, you will recieve notification and a refund of the $25 fee.
  • If you are accepted, you will recieve a packet of information in the mail with instructions of how to prepare and mark your items and a contract for the Trunk Show. At this time we will request images of your work to use for publicity purposes.
  • Items need to be delivered to the Textile Center on Wednesday June 2 or Thursday June 3 by 6 pm. Please note: We cannot accept Trunk Show items on Friday June 4 or later. Your items must arrive before the Trunk Show starts.
  • Trunk Show will be open during regular Shop hours and during Symposium events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday June 4-6. The Trunk show will be open to the public. Textile Center Shop will handle all sales from the Trunk Show. Trunk show items will be on display in the Textile Center's Shop, Gallery and Lobby areas.
  • Artists may pick up items from the Trunk Show on Sunday June 6 after 3 pm or on Monday June 7 or Tuesday June 8 between 10 and 7. Artists may choose to have us ship items back to them. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs.
  • Artists will recieve a check by mail for their Trunk Show sales.
Things to note:
You must be registered for the Symposium to participate in the Trunk Show.

Trunk Show will be open to the public.

Selling at Trunk Show:
  • Textile Center Shop will handle all sales at the Trunk Show.
  • Textile Center will collect sales tax if applicable.
  • Textile Center will retain a 30% commission on all sales.
  • There will be no returns on Trunk Show items. All sales will be final.

I have to be registered for the conference in order to participate? What does that mean?
  • You are considered to be "Registered for the Symposium" if you have registered for one or more of the following Symposium Events: Workshop, Two Day Pass, One Day Pass, Single Session Pass.
