GARAGE SALE EVENTS
The PREVIEW Sale
Friday April 16 6:30-8:30 pm
The most fun you can have for $25! As a
fundraiser for the Textile Center's programs
and services, we're having a preview sale
and reception. Shop the sale the night
before we open our doors to the public.
Music! Refreshments! First dibs on the
best bargains and your chance to beat the
crowds! Support Textile Center programs
including the Textile Mobile, dye lab, library,
shop and exhibitions. We will have food, drinks and live music from Wild Hollow in the gallery.
$25 donation at the door; all proceeds go
directly to Textile Center programs.
The BIG Sale
Saturday April 17 9:00 am-4:00 pm
The biggest textile garage sale ever is back
again. Admission is just $1 per person. Hours
of textile shopping fun! Imagine hundreds
of square feet piled high with fabric, yarn,
threads, notions, kits, patterns, magazines,
tools, beads, buttons, even unfinished
projects!
Again this year we expect a nice selection
of vintage textiles, looms, various types of
hoops and stands, sewing machines, sergers
and other specialty equipment available for bidding in a silent auction. And
donŐt forget the better-than-ever used book sale in our Library!
The BAG Sale
Saturday April 18 3:00-4:00 pm
Everything has to go! Help us clean out! After 3:00 pm,
just $1 for everything you can stuff into a paper shopping
bag! If it doesn't fit in the bag it's 50% off. (We provide the bags.)
DONATING YOUR ITEMS TO THE GARAGE SALE

Donation Drop-Off:
3000 University Ave SE, Minneapolis
Located at the corner of SE Arthur Ave and University Ave SE. Follow the
signs to the drop off area at the back of the building.
Bring the textile-related items you want to donate to the Textile Center on
Thursday April 15 between 5 pm and 8 pm or Friday April 16, between 9
am and 5 pm. There will be signs directing you to our drive-in drop-off
area, and volunteers will be standing by to help you unload. Receipts will
be available to acknowledge your donation.
Please understand that for security reasons, we cannot accept donations
simply left outside our building. If you can't drop-off your donation on
April 16 or 17, please ask a friend to help you out or call 612.436.0464.
HOW TO PRICE YOUR DONATION
Pricing Donations
Please package or bundle your items and price and mark them prior to
drop-off. This is a huge help to us and we very much appreciate your
time!
- Place small items such as ribbons, buttons or
fabric scraps in securely sealed, clear plastic bags.
- Price in even dollar amounts only: $1, $2, $5, etc.
- Mark the prices with permanent ink, in large print,
on stickers or masking tape and securely fasten to
items or packages.
- Please try to include fiber-content,
yardage, etc. if you know it
If you're unsure about pricing, consider the age and condition of the
item and assign a value of approximately 25% to 50% of the original
cost. If you don't know or can't remember the original cost, please
make your best guess. Remember, this is a fundraiser for all of the Textile Center programs. Every dollar counts!

We will start volunteer sign ups on February 15, 2010.
Be part of the fun! Shifts are available on Thursday April 15 - Sunday April 18. Jobs vary from picking up donations from businesses, to sorting and pricing, to being a cashier, to helping set up the silent auction. Call 612.436.0464 to sign up!
