Family Fiber Festival • March 18
Learn about different textile arts from around the world! Bring your family to Textile Center for a free make-and-take event on March 18 from 1-3 pm.
- Japanese kumihimo braiding: learn how to make the same braids that samurai warriors created to tie their armor together!
- Wet Felted Balls: use an ancient process of using loose sheep wool and turn it into felt balls using warm soapy suds.
- Somali Plied Bracelets: using a step from the kebed weaving process– take your shoes off and learn how to create a plied rope with colorful pieces of yarn.
Free and open to the public.
