Fascinators & Feathers
Saturday & Sunday, April 20 & 21, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Fascinators are designed to fascinate. They are small hats that can be stunningly inventive, often making it a point to defy the laws of physics not only in their trimming but also in their ability to stay on your head. They can be wild with feathers and beads, or subtle and sophisticated with a little mystery attached with a veil. To quote Lily Dache, they are "a bit of magic." In this class, we will create a fascinator by blocking millinery buckram, wiring the edge, covering it with fabric, attaching the best fastener for your hair and head and then covering all the messy bits with lining. Then, we will explore the many ways to work with feathers and learn trimming methods using feather manipulation.

Cast On: Mobius Knitting
Monday June 10 & 17, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Learn how to knit the magical mobius using an innovative cast on technique. There is no cast on or bound off edge in the traditional sense - the cast on is in the middle of your work and each round increases the width from the center out. A 180 degree twist is created at the join, making a mobius loop. This is a two-project class so you will get lots of practice to add this technique to your knitting "toolbox." You should have a little knitting experience for this class. Supply list provided.
